City Designer includes tools that help quickly populate a town map with buildings, while Dungeon Designer has some tools for indoor maps. With regards to the Addons (City Designer, Dungeon Designer, etc.), those are useful for certain types of maps. If you have absolutely zero artistic ability (which I personally doubt), CC3+ won't help you. You should at least be able to draw out a rough outline of the map for reference purposes (so that you know the general shape of the landmasses or where, generally, things should be in relation to each other and the map edges). Joe Sweeney has actually started redoing his tutorials for CC3 to use CC3+, although the bulk of the techniques transfer over from CC3 to CC3+ with no significant changes.Īs to whether or not it'll help you in particular, that depends on how much time you're willing to put into the maps. There is a learning curve to it, as with any CAD software (yes, CC3+ 1 should be treated as a CAD software as opposed to a paint-like program, such as Paint.NET, Gimp, etc.), so you will need to get a bit accustomed to using it.
